It isn’t often that the components of a presentation — speaker, topic, content, and delivery — all come together and result in a total far greater than the sum of its parts. Martin Lemelmans' presentation of his journey from busy, working artist/illustrator of children's books, husband and father, a person following all the usual all-consuming paths to a life and career, to the man who was stopped by a nearly mystical revelation, leading him to the discovery of his real purpose: to use his gifts to tell the story of his mother, Mendel’s Daughter, a Holocaust survivor.

The title of the presentation suggests a “how to” for the audience, more or less to do one's family memoir. It does tell “how”, but that is where it transcends the immediate, and brings the audience to a level of interest and involvement that quickly becomes fascination. The talk, augmented with visuals, creates an experience for the listener/viewer that resounds within the heart long after.
